RNA samples were derived from fresh frozen prostate tumor tissue and from a 16 year-old FFPE tissue block. Ten reference genes were quantified using single multiplex XP-PCR reactions and real-time PCR. Even in the degraded fixed tissue sample (top right), XP-PCR generated good signal outperforming real-time PCR (lower right).
