Predictive Drug Response

Therapies do not always correlate well with pharmacological response in treatment. Drugs act at a molecular level that is not necessarily reflected by the overall phenotype of the targeted tissue.

Genetic analysis can provide deeper insight on:

• the molecular activities within a diseased tissue
• the likelihood to respond to therapy by looking at specific characteristics associated with the drug target
• the up and downstream pathways

By focusing down to the molecular level one can directly measure characteristics that predict drug response.
